Foster Carers Needed - Angus
Fostering Families come in all shapes and sizes - yours could be one of them.
A wide variety of people are eligible to become foster carers! Many people do not come forward because they think they are not eligible.
We have carers from a wide variety of backgrounds and age groups; you may be gay, single, married, or divorced. Some carers work part time whilst others maybe unemployed. You may or may not have your own children or your children may have grown up and left home
Who are the children?
Our young people come from diverse backgrounds across the agency. We will give you a clear idea and be honest with you. Why we need foster carers- we have referrals from across the region we cannot place - we would love to hear from you. There is a current a great shortage of foster carers in the UK.
Both experienced carers and new families. There are many reasons why children need to be 'looked after' by fostering families. Some families have periods of instability due to life issues i.e. medical conditions; depression; family breakdown; learning difficulties; substance dependency; and families struggling to cope. Other children unfortunately experience significant harm from family members. In these circumstances, parents may have failed to adequately meet the child's basic needs; exposed the child to inappropriate behavior or risk or have deliberately caused harm to a child. Some children with 'special needs' may need to be 'looked after' by foster carers. These children may have a disability, specific medical needs, learning disabilities or challenging behavior.
We are often asked as to what is the 'ideal' foster family. the answer to this is that simply 'isn't'. Families like children come in all shapes and sizes and from many different backgrounds, all of whom need care, support and a safe environment where they can be nurtured and grow. Our task is to try and identify those families and match the young people referred to us by the local authorities.Link megjelenítése" width="0" height="0" />
