We are looking to recruit a Finance Administrator for their office based in Bournemouth

Purpose of job:

The jobholder will be based at our Head Office in Bournemouth. The purpose of the role will be to support the Finance Team Leader in administering the finances of the organisation accurately, in a timely and consistent manner, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Specific accountabilities:

  • Processing of BACS reports (ADDACS, ARUDD, DDIC)
  • Direct Debit mandates and submission of AUDDIS files
  • Processing of Direct Debit, Credit Cardcollection and direct credit files
  • Administration and process of invoices, expense claim forms, manual cheque requests and commission claw back
  • Daily cheque runs
  • Payment processing on Bankline (intercompany transfer, faster payments and CHAPS)
  • Bank and control account reconciliations
  • Review and investigate error logs
  • Review and update of departmental procedures

Person specification (education/qualifications)

  • Attention to detail
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet targets/deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team and well under pressure
  • Polite, hardworking and able to communicate with both external contacts and colleagues
  • Positive and forward thinking
  • To act with integrity at all times
  • Previous working experience in a Finance department an advantage
  • Studying towards an AAT or other professional finance related qualification an advantage

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure own compliance with Health and Safety regulations and security
  • Safeguarding and accurately managing Teachers Assurance's IT assets - data, data quality, hardware and software
  • Protection of Teachers Assurance's assets

  • Head of Finance
  • Colleagues in the Finance Division
  • Teachers Assurance suppliers

Reporting to:

Finance Team Leader

Annual salary:

Up to £15k per annum depending on qualifications and skills

Pension, life assurance and 22 days holiday per year (rising with service)

Hours of work:

35 hour week
