Fibre Installer

UK-based Telecommunication Company
is seeking for candidates for the position of      

Fibre Installer

Role Responsibilities:

  • Regular reporting to the field supervisor
  • Installation and splicing of  fibre optic cable and the installation of FTTH equipment and cabling in either residential or business premises
  • Ensuring that work is  delivered on time, within budget and to the customer’s satisfaction on behalf of the customer with particular focus on Right First Time
  • Responsible for the quality of the agreed installation
  • Health & Safety of Installation team

Typical Deliverables for the Role:

  • Agreeing Installation ‘design’ with the customer prior to start of work
  • Cross training of team mates to ensure knowledge and techniques are shared
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety standards
  • Providing a high quality installation to the customer agreed expectations
  • Mentoring and instructing teams through to resolution on technical and physical issues
  • Ensuring tasks are completed within the correct timescales
  • Rodding or Cut & draw installation of fibre optic cable
  • Sealing risers and ducts correctly
  • Splicing within U/G and aerial Splice Joints where required
  • External surface mount cabling to correct standards
  • Internal surface mount cabling utilising both Fibre Optic and CAT5/6E cabling
  • Termination of CAT5/6E cables
  • Mounting of CPE including ONT’s and Wireless routers
  • Overhead installation of Fibre Optic cables

Business Operations Skills:


  • Experience in successful delivery of fibre based projects – FTTH/P advantageous
  • Accredited Fibre Splicer
  • Experience of working within the public domain
  • Customer installation experience
  • Strong and Proven Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent Customer communication skills
  • Influencing and negotiating skills


  • Accreditation in Fibre Splicing
  • Computer literate
  • NRSWA qualification advantageous
  • Health & safety training is desirable
