Family Support Manager - Scotland

We currently have the following vacancy with our Family Support Team:

Family Support Manager
£43,057 to £46,133 per annum
37.5 hours per week
Rachel house, Kinross or Robin House, Balloch with travel to other CHAS locations

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and talented social work manager to work in a national leadership role developing the Family Support Team across CHAS, whilst remaining closely connected to practice.

Our family support service encompasses social work, chaplaincy, transition, specialist play, bereavement and volunteers. These teams provide a comprehensive and holistic support to babies, children, young people and their families from the point of referral through to bereavement.

As an experienced and self-motivated social work professional, you will lead this multi-disciplinary team of dedicated staff and volunteers working across Scotland and join with a dynamic senior leadership team who are intent on continually challenging themselves to ensure the care offered is safe, effective, person-centered and promotes well-being, in line with Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC). As part of this, you will support the developing children's palliative care initiatives and related national healthcare agendas.

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate an understanding of the provision of palliative care to children and young people with life-shortening conditions, as well as knowledge of a range of counselling and therapeutic techniques including, family therapy, systems theory and bereavement theory.

With experience of working within a child focused environment, you will be able to lead on child protection and also be knowledgeable about transition issues and adult support and protection. You will be passionate about providing a holistic service and offering a truly family centered approach.

Highly developed communication and negotiating skills are required as well as excellent planning and organisational skills. Being able to lead, engage and motivate are essential to the role as well as identify with the CHAS core value, vision and purpose.
