End User Computing Manager - London, City, EC1A2

The End User Computing Manager leads the team providing the design & engineering, delivery and support of News UK's End-User Computing Infrastructure and Services including mobile and remote working facilities across all platforms.
Responsible for, but not limited to the following technologies;
• Microsoft PC Desktop
• Mac Desktop
• Desktop packaging and deployment
• Active Directory
• Windows servers / compute
• Antivirus and patching
• Citrix and VPN remote working
• Identity Management
• Email - on premise Exchange and Google
• Other Cloud based end user services
Includes overseeing the service design, initiation, transition, on-going support, operation, continual service improvement and decommissioning of end-user computing services.
Key Accountabilities
• Oversee the design of the entire end-user computing client product set both hardware and software to provide a flexible, standards based capability across a wide range of corporate and consumer electronics devices
• Responsible for setting and delivering the strategy and governance for end user computing, including the move to an off premise, Cloud based provision for remote access
• Ensure effective management of any outsourced services and functions through Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contracts.
• Ensure that end-user computing formal service levels targets are met, including renegotiating these with business stakeholders on a periodic basis and participating in service review meetings.
• Respond to, and satisfactorily resolve, any escalated customer issues or concerns.
• Work with the Head of Infrastructure & Enterprise Operations to identify possible Service Improvements and implement these through the Change Management process.
• Be the escalation point for Priority 1 Major Incidents, liaising with the Incident Manager and ensuring suitable cover during holiday and sickness.
• Represent the end-user computing services in Change Advisory Board meetings, daily and weekly Service Review meetings.
Essential Skills
• Able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Strong managerial skills relating to leadership, motivation, organisation and communication.
• An advocate of good practice in Service Management and have a strong record of managing relationships with the business
• To be experienced at delivering Service Level Agreements (SLAs) negotiated to meet the Service Level Requirements of the Technology customer.
• Demonstrated experience with key end-user computing technologies including client, server, virtualisation, application delivery and cloud.
• Ideally educated to degree level, with a strong technical and service management background.
• ITIL certification or other service management framework experience, including working with ITIL based Service processes and functions such as Change, Incident, Problem and Transition.
• Demonstrable experience of setting strategy.
• Strong customer management skills, including the ability to resolve disputes to mutual satisfaction.
• Demonstrable track record of working with a small group of 3rd party partners
