Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Construction
Salary: £30,500 - 38,100

The Electrical Engineer provides support to and liaison between the data centre engineering team and service providers delivering engineering and construction solutions.

This role helps ensure that data centre development and project works are executed in accordance with agreed plans and to agreed timetables and that the operational integrity and stability of the data centres are not compromised. This is a role reports directly to the Primary Data Centre Engineering Works Manager.
• Provide the Data Centre team focusing on the delivery of the construction activities associated with data centre infrastructure with a range of support services
• Helps ensure the physical security and integrity of multiple Data Centre buildings is not compromised by engineering project activities.
• Supports the successful, seamless and timely delivery of all engineering activities
• Ensures third parties adhere to agreed plans, policies and standards
• Ensures all policies, and in particular Health & Safety compliance matters, are understood and adhered to by third parties
• Performs audits on 3rd parties to ensure compliance with legal and Corporate operating requirements .
• Pro-actively manage all facilities and Infrastructure according to defined maintenance schedules
• Review, track and report on Key Performance Indicators for Data Centre project performance

• Self confident leadership and able to make an immediate impact with suppliers and stakeholders and quickly gain respect
• High attention to detail with the ability to always read the 'small print' and translate what this means
• Risk identification arising from internal and external sources
• Experienced in dealing with both internal and external customers and stakeholders and balancing differing requirements when delivering services and support
• Ability to build and foster effective working relationships within and without the
• Good budgeting, cost control and general financial understanding
• Ability to present complex and technical information clearly and concisely

• Familiar with the technical sustainability of Data centres including: critical architecture design, cooling topologies, cabling Infrastructures, business centric capacity management and end-point failure analysis

• Ability to understand and converse in electrical engineering, Information technology and facilities management concepts and terminology.
• Able to interpret technical information from a wide variety of management and measurement systems.
• Strong awareness of 'green IT' and associated energy enablement strategies across environments, power and utility provision - to minimise power consumption, reduce costs and progress the Sustainable Living Plan

• Appreciation of Data Centres and related Facilities (utilities, security, protection systems)
• Able to be become an effective member of a diverse team in a highly complex, mission critical and rapidly changing environment
• Experience in a role operating in IT technology or similar infrastructure/Data Centre Management environment
• Appreciation of working to standards and the application of industry best practices
