Dundee City Council is seeking a person of proven ability and capacity to join a recently formed extended management team of the Education Department with a main focus of supporting the work of the Head of Education (Primary) in:
• directing the process of continuous improvement in primary schools, including the continuing development of Curriculum for Excellence;
• assisting with all operational matters relating to primary schools and the design and delivery of the curriculum; and
• supporting the development of strategic city-wide initiatives
We are looking for you to help us lead these developments, and in turn we will help you continue to develop your career to the highest level.
You will have accumulated valuable experience of managing within a primary education environment, where you will have demonstrated strong leadership qualities and successful performance. You will be enthusiastic and passionate in rising to the challenge of raising levels of attainment, achievement and inclusion in our schools, ambitious in setting realistic but challenging targets for yourself and our schools, and authoritative and sensitive in working with Head Teachers and staff across the city.
This post is full year and you will be a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or willing to become a member of the PVG scheme with a satisfactory scheme record and or a scheme record update.
