ROLE DEFINITION

To assist the manager in the delivery of tasks remitted to the team.



KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Responsibilities

  • To undertake individual role in line with the Council's business objectives and in compliance with the Council's corporate policies and procedures.
  • To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf, in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities detailed below.

Role Specific Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Contribute and participate in the development and implementation of strategic plans.
  • Carry out, or contribute to, quantitive and qualitative research processes.
  • Assist in planning and delivering new supply housing across North Ayrshire.
  • Provide an effective Private Sector Advice service and undertake assessments of private sector housing conditions throughout North Ayrshire.
  • Contribute to the identification of mechanisms for meeting the housing needs of an ageing population through development, refurbishment, housing support and adaptation.
  • Carry out consultation as required with a range of stakeholders on matters relating to private sector and affordable housing.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with other services, agencies, voluntary organisations and local residents in relation to the strategic planning and private sector roles of the team.
  • Keep up to date with both local and national housing planning and development information.
  • Be responsible for the management and co-ordination of requests to dispose of or for the use of small areas of Council land.
  • Produce written briefings and reports for submission to a range of stakeholders.

  • HNC/SVQ3 in relevant discipline, or equivalent
  • Degree level education in a relevant discipline, or equivalent

  • Experience of working within a housing, development, strategic planning or private sector housing background
  • OR consideration will be given to recent graduates without such experience, who have a degree level education in a relevant discipline, or equivalent
