Do you want to work as well as gain a qualification? Then this position is perfect for you! The successful candidate will be completing a minimum of an Intermediate Customer Service Qualification, which is a brilliant opportunity for someone to learn while they work. This position would suit a mature candidate who has had duties such as working alone on their own initiative and responsible for duties such as key holding (opening and closing the building).

This company is a City Centre established estate and lettings agency, who are looking to take on a Lettings Assistant/Negotiator who will work closely with the Lettings Account Manager in managing their large portfolio of rented properties, and also deal with customers who are buying and selling properties, both face-to-face and on the telephone. The position will suit an enthusiastic individual, who can demonstrate excellent customer service and IT skills The successful applicant would ideally (but not essentially) have previous experience in a lettings/housing related environment and be keen to grow with the business that aims to consolidate its current position as the clear market leader in the area.

What is the Vacancy?
The vacancy is for a Lettings Assistant/Negotiator/Customer Service Apprentice, who will be responsible directly to the Lettings Account Manager, also carrying out, as required, tasks for the Branch Manager and Directors including some sales administration and general office support. The job is predominantly office-based but may occasionally include accompanying viewings.

Main Duties:
Working under the direction of the Lettings Account Manager to undertake the following duties:

Recording rental payments from tenants
Entering data into the Company computer system/Lettings databases
Making payments to landlord/contractors and providing statements
Obtaining quotes/chasing outstanding repairs and dealing with contractors
Chasing outstanding rents by text message, letter, telephone
Dealing with landlord & tenant queries
Booking viewings and valuations
Responding to complaints/general enquires
Answering the telephone and dealing with customers in the office
Cold Calling
Preparing tenancy agreements
Ensuring gas certificates are up to date
Ensuring tenants have completed application forms correctly/obtaining landlord references
Updating the 'paying in record' of money taken to the bank daily
Producing property brochures
Producing 'notification of sale/let' documents
Also carrying other duties as required for the Lettings Account Manager, Branch Manager and Directors.
Essential Skills

Strong ability with figures and managing financial data and payments
Good customer service skills
IT skills important and proficiency in MS Office
Good organisational and administrative skills
Good time keeping
Must have a mature attitude
Excellent work ethic
Desirable Skills (but not essential)

Previous lettings/housing related experience
Full driving licence
The training will be carried out over a period of 12
months. On successful completion you will receive a Level 2/3 Qualification,
which is recognised through out the Business Skills sector.


Monday-Friday 9am-17.00

One in four Saturdays from 10.00am till 2.00pm


£2.68 per hour
