PwC's busy and successful Scotland Tax practice is looking to recruit qualified Senior Associates in Aberdeen.PwC is the leading practice in tax, assurance and advisory in the city of Aberdeen and offer a diverse range of services and therefore opportunities for newcomers to our organisation.
This current opportunity has arisen due to the success and growth of the practice which presents further career progression and development potential for the successful applicants.
You would join a team of approx 30, and would have your own client portfolio. Clients are primarily in the oil & gas industry, with a mix of upstream and service sector. Work would involve audit of tax and ad-hoc consulting work, including tax due diligence and other projects. The role is based in the Aberdeen office, with occasional travel for client meetings, training courses etc.
You would have solid experience, and be CA and/or CTA qualified, demonstrating strong project management and delivery skills. Experience of compliance and consulting work is essential, and knowledge of the oil & gas industry would be useful.
About The Role
The vacancy represents a great opportunity for you to join a growing, stable team with a deep oil and gas focus. Due to recent growth and internal promotions, we have 2 vacancies for experienced, qualified individuals to join our team. We would expect you to be aiming for Manager promotion in 12-18 months time.
Based in Aberdeen, the tax practice is a key office in our Scottish Business Unit, and has close links with the Energy team in London. The Aberdeen team is regarded within PwC as the UK oil and gas centre of excellence.
You will work with Managers, Senior Managers, Directors and Partners in the team, based both locally and in London, Norway and Houston, on a variety of client assignments. You will have access to some of our most senior people from the outset.
There will also be opportunity to contribute to the firms marketing efforts, both within Tax and together with colleagues from other lines of service.
The following skills are required for this role:
Essential skills needed for the
• ACA or CTA qualification would be beneficial, however we will consider those currently studying, or those who can demonstrate experience from Practice • Solid experience in practice or industry role • Some experience of corporation tax compliance and/or consulting • Strong communicator
Desirable skills sought for the role
• Knowledge of the Oil industry • Knowledge of the upstream tax regime • Motivated to succeed • Ability to manage own portfolio and workload
