The Operations Performance Improvement (OPI) sub competency within Operations is looking for Senior Associates to support and manage projects. Our people in this sub-competency are experienced process consultants, using a range of analytics and improvement techniques to improve our clients' front office performance.
You will be playing a key role as part of a highly skilled, specialist team within a wider group of operations professionals. At the same time, you will be encouraged to initiate and develop new ideas. Our highly motivated team have an excellent track record of delivering high quality work to major national and international clients and has ambitious growth plans for the next few years.
As a national team you may be based at any of PwC's offices around the country but will be expected to travel on a regular basis to our clients' locations all over the UK and abroad.

About the role
PwC's Consulting Practice has ambitious growth plans. The Operations Performance Improvement (OPI) sub competency within our Operations competency is at the heart of this growth.

Our team work off an enormously strong client platform with substantial growth plans and strong board level commitment to this. We can offer a broad position to successful applications including some cross sector work and some international assignments. Our experienced team have an excellent track record of delivering high quality work to major international clients and has ambitious yet attainable growth plans over the next few years.

We categorise our operations performance improvement skills through four key platforms, which to some degree we would expect all our people to have a working knowledge of, and work towards specialism in one or more areas. We would anticipate Senior Associates would have good experience in one or more of these areas already:
Operations analytics:
• Experience of identifying/implementing Key Performance Indicators and balanced scorecards to improve operational performance • Creating a baseline to monitor project improvements • Able to conduct diagnostic reviews to identify opportunities for improvement • Experience of benchmarking
Operational cost reduction:
The application of tools and techniques to aid consistent and emotion-free analysis of cost reduction targets, for example, Zero Based Budgeting.

The application of Lean thinking, combined with a proven transformation approach and programme management methodology, is providing opportunities to deliver client value in non-traditional Lean heartlands.
The PwC approach to Lean has three main facets:
• Use Lean to deliver client value by fixing business issues • Build sustainable client side Lean capability • Fundamentally change the way people work
Process improvement:
The application of standard process design and improvement techniques, including effective implementation of process changes in operational environments.
Reporting to Consultants, Senior Consultants, Directors or Partners, the Senior Associates will work with other Senior Associates and Associates in delivering smaller client projects or work-streams on larger programmes of work. You will also play an important internal role in driving our consulting development programmes forward, imparting your skills and ways of thinking to others.

The following skills are required for this role:
Essential skills:
• Degree educated • Experienced process improvement practitioner • Demonstrable experience of tools and techniques, ways of working and their applications • Ability to translate performance improvement benefits into financial business outcomes • Ability to lead, implement and sustain performance improvement workstreams (on larger programmes) or projects • Ability to be pragmatic, resilient and innovative in problem solving and issue resolution • Strong personal ownership and highly delivery focused • Strong leadership and influencing skills
Desirable skills for this role:
• Application of your experience within one or more of the following sectors: Financial Sectors (especially Capital Markets), Industrial Products, Oil & Gas, Utilities & Nuclear, Health, • Pharmaceuticals and Government & Public Sector
