We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Manager to join our Banking & Capital Markets Financial Services Risk and Regulation Practice. We are a market leading Financial Services regulatory consulting team with a successful track record in providing consultancy services and advice to clients across the banking and capital market sector; including global investment banks, UK FTSE banks, brokers, smaller to mid-sized firms and regulatory bodies.
This role involves working with our clients, to provide advice and support in relation to compliance with the FCA's regime for client money and assets (CASS).
We have significant growth plans and are looking for ambitious and dedicated professional advisors to help us deliver on these plans. We work closely with our colleagues in other areas of consultancy and professional services to deliver tailored, end-to-end solutions for our clients. In line with our growth strategy as well as our long term plans in investing in the Financial Services sector, we are seeking to supplement the existing team with new talent at Senior Manager level.
With the help of this new talent, our aim is to continue to build a team that is known in the market as the best in class regulatory consulting team, interacting with the major players in the UK, EU and Global financial services industry and playing a key role in PwC's offering to its clients.
About the role
In the fast evolving world of financial services regulation organisations need support and advice in how to deal with and manage regulatory change. The Financial Services Risk and Regulation Practice works with our clients to provide high quality consulting advice to the financial sector. We help clients to anticipate and understand regulatory and policy change and make the necessary changes and adjustments to their business to manage this change. Where it is too late to prevent failure, we work with our clients to investigate the source of the problem, deal with the impacts and help to establish controls to support compliance going forward.
As a Senior Manager you will be:
• Identifying and developing opportunities and winning new business, through marketing and sales activities and continuous client contact programmes with senior and executive level client staff
• Networking with clients, prospective clients and internally across PwC, developing ongoing relationships and leveraging these where possible into project opportunities
• Leading project teams at client sites and being responsible for senior level client liaison
• Taking responsibility for the overall quality of reports; making oral presentations of findings/recommendations to client Board and management team(s)
• People development, mentoring and coaching, including management of client facing team
• Technical research, responding to consultation papers from relevant regulatory bodies, providing input to the debate on development and application of policy, participating in PwC's Thought Leadership
The following skills are required for this role:
• Significant experience in delivering high quality technical support and quality assurance over CASS engagements
• An in-depth understanding of the industry and regulatory environment in the UK is required, including substantial experience of advising on CASS issues.
• Technically proficient in the FCA principles and rules, in particular in relation to CASS but also including the following:
• Good understanding of the CASS rules, as well as the forthcoming changes and proposed changes to them
• Good understanding of the FCA's approach to CASS from policy through to supervision and enforcement
• Good general knowledge of the latest regulatory developments and themes
• General understanding of compliance and governance structures and operations, and industry best practice in compliance.
• Experience in providing assistance and support in dealing with regulatory enforcement actions and remediation exercises on CASS - getting businesses back on an even keel quickly
• Experience of developing and delivering training solutions on CASS to financial sector clients
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• The ability to make new contacts, build relationships, listen to and understand client needs and interpret this into new opportunities to assist them
• People management, coaching and mentoring skills to contribute to the support our client teams and aid the development of other colleagues
