Part time - 2.5 days (18 hours) per week
Fixed Term - 2 years
£26,741 (pro rata) per annum

The Learning, Volunteers and Audiences department of a major museum is seeking to recruit a Community Partnerships Coordinator to manage the Age Friendly Museums (previously known as Age Collective) network as part of the Community Partnerships Team. The Community Partnerships Team creates opportunities for new and underrepresented audiences to visit the Museum and interact with the Museum's collections in engaging ways.

Key areas of responsibility:
• To work with a wide range of audiences with varying perceptions of the Museum and varying access needs in an enthusiastic, engaging and encouraging manner.
• To administer the Age Friendly Museums working group to ensure its continuing engagement with the programme and support the professional development of working group members in their work with and for vulnerable audiences.
• To manage a network of contacts across the UK including many relationships with organisations outside the museum sector.
• To coordinate Age Friendly Museum Day across the UK and develop events and training on themes related to working with vulnerable audiences.
• To work collaboratively to plan and develop resources for Age Friendly nationwide touring exhibitions and loans.
• To coordinate the project's advocacy strategy and identify opportunities for dissemination.
• To develop and deliver community partnerships programmes to agreed quality targets.
• To deliver the evaluation of project outcomes, providing evidence of impact for funders and other stakeholders.
• To manage project-based budgets as required.
• To manage volunteers in the delivery of programmes.
• To share skills and knowledge with other assistants during training and delivery of duties.

Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and will be knowledgeable of the museum and cultural sector. The successful candidate will have experience of project processes including risk management and managing relationships across the UK as well as previous experience in an administration/project management role. The chosen candidate will be highly organised with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
