Business Analyst - Multichannel - London

THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Analyst to join our Multi channel team within our Baker Street store support centre.

Role Purpose:

To work with Business Sponsors and subject matter experts to produce clear and actionable business requirement specifications, functional specifications, process models, business rules and UAT plans that reflect the project scope and deliverables.

Act as the interface between the business subject matter experts and the technology teams and support teams. Work in conjunction with the business users and development teams to create and execute UAT scenarios and test plans that validate initial business requirements. Ensure all assigned project activities in alignment with project timelines and budget

Key Responsibilities:

1. Requirements Elicitation and Analysis

  • Identify key subject matter experts within the appropriate business functions and 3rd party suppliers (where appropriate)
  • Work in conjunction with Business Sponsors and subject matter experts to capture requirements, define processes and business rules
  • Work specifically with the Ecommerce UX and Design teams to ensure that detailed front end development and design requirements, and the resulting resource requirements, are captured accurately at the beginning of every project
  • Elicit business requirements using various methods including interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, process analysis, use cases, scenario building, task and workflow analysis
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Perform gap analysis by comparing the solution/product to the business requirements
  • Drive and challenge business functions on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
  • Make important trade off recommendations between functionality, resources and timing
  • Ensure recommended solutions are actionable and competitive

2. Documentation and Reporting

  • Produce business requirement specifications, functional specifications, process models, business rules and UAT plans that reflect the project scope and deliverables
  • Ensure that all documents are written using clear and concise language
  • Ensure that documents support and clearly represent the required business requirements
  • Ensure that documents meet all relevant specifications; and are compliant with the project brief and internal documentation requirements, policies and procedures
  • Obtain stakeholder sign‐off for documented deliverables
  • Ensure relevant information is effectively communicated and reported to the Project Manager and other functions as appropriate

3. Quality Assurance and Testing

  • Working in conjunction with the business users and development teams create and execute UAT scenarios and test plans that validate initial business requirements
  • Convert the requirements and design documents into a set of testing cases and scripts that can be used to verify that the system/process meets the project deliverables
  • Work with subject matter experts to create the testing plan, cases, and scripts
  • Execute or supervise the execution of those test cases and scripts
  • Work with Project team to ensure the final solution meets the highest quality
  • Work with appropriate teams (eg HR and Training) teams to understand training needs and work with the these teams to deliver the needed materials

4. Planning & Delivery

  • Assist in defining the vision and scope of assigned projects
  • Conduct assigned project activities in alignment with project timelines and budget
  • Liaise closely with the Project Manager regarding prioritisation and estimation of levels of effort, and risk and cost of implementation
  • Identify issues and risks, ensuring that they are appropriately captured raised and actioned

5. Business Liaison

  • Act as the interface between the business subject matter experts and the technology teams and support teams
  • Act as the internal representative and subject matter expert for business requirements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to enhance business relationships and project delivery
  • Identify opportunities and propose solutions for any identified issues

6. Business case Development

  • Support the Head of Project Office in the development of project business cases, cost benefit analysis and post implementation commercial evaluation.

YOU

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Business Analysis experience within the Retail and Ecommerce sector
  • Strong problem solving capabilities
  • Experience of working with the following project management methodologies - PRINCE, Agile
  • Good understanding of retail and ecommerce systems and processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good ability to build & maintain relationships
  • Strong planning skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
