Building Quality Administrative Modern Apprentice - Dundee
An opportunity has arisen for a Modern Apprentice in the Development Management Support Team within the Council's Planning Division.
The Modern Apprentice Scheme is focused to target high youth unemployment in the Dundee Area and the funding for training is only available for candidates aged 16 to 19. Please ensure, if you are applying for a Modern Apprentice post, that you are between the ages of 16 to 19. You will be asked to bring proof of age with you if you are invited for an interview.
You will be a member of a busy team supporting Development Management planners. You will do this by receiving planning applications, checking them and the fees submitted, putting them into a computerised database, asking for further information, advertising applications and notifying neighbours, providing lists of received and decided applications and issuing decisions. You will also help by dealing with inquiries from the public.
You will possess 3 standard grades, or equivalent, at Level 3 or above including English and Maths and have experience in the use of Microsoft office suite and other IT packages.
You must be committed to the 2 year apprenticeship and undertake to complete the relevant qualification - in this case SVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Business and Administration over the 2 year period.
You must be committed to delivering a high quality of customer service. You should be enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills. A commitment to achieving a high degree of accuracy is required. You will also have good communication skills and work well as part of a team.
The job involves a 37 hour week with the opportunity to work flexible hours.
