Audit - Senior Associate - CambridgeReference AS03735Location CambridgeService AssuranceSpecialism AuditIndustry Cross industryWho we are looking for
The PwC Cambridge office is currently looking to recruit experienced Audit Senior Associates to complement the existing team.
Location: Cambridge
About the role
Our clients include leading technology and biotech / life science companies, as well as a wide range of other important businesses, including car dealerships, tour operators, retailers and food processing companies. One of our unique selling points is our portfolio of biotech and life science clients, many of them having been set up as a result of venture capital associations with the University (an audit client itself) - generating an unusually high number of listed clients for a regional office. This provides staff here with a wealth of experience working on fascinating clients in cutting-edge sectors - with plenty of interesting transaction-related work, such as capital-raising, Merger's & Acquisitions (M&As;) and Initial Public Offering (IPOs). And all this in a close-knit environment.
Our 165 staff, including five partners and around 40 - 45 trainees, have many different reasons for making the beautiful city of Cambridge their home. As well as 'natives' of Cambridgeshire, many of our students have studied at the famous University, decided they liked the city and settled here, while amongst our more experienced staff are people from the US, South Africa, the Middle East and South America, who find our unique portfolio of work exciting and challenging.
Enjoying office life:
The office has an active social life, with our own football, cricket, rowing and hockey teams; tennis and squash also feature regularly. We stage quarterly team events and office-wide summer and Christmas parties, with many more informal occasions. In the firm's twice-yearly internal survey, Cambridge always scores consistently above-average for 'strength of relationships with colleagues' - and it's the people here who make it such a great place to work.
We're fully behind PwC's corporate responsibility agenda. We participate in the Three Peaks Challenge and Race for Life, and enter an enthusiastic team in the Chariots of Fire charity relay race around the centre of the city. Staff volunteer to help on conservation projects; others mentor local school students on entrepreneurial business projects. There's always something going on for people to get involved with and 'give something back'.
Looking ahead, we'll be focusing on growing our Assurance practice, especially with entrepreneurial, private client and family-owned businesses, as well as developing our market share in the technology sector across all service lines. Within the public sector, we'll be continuing to move towards greater internal audit work. Exciting times lie ahead for Cambridge!
