Assistant Controller

The main purpose of the role is to give administrative support to the SSC Controller regards the statutory –, and group accounting. This position is also accountable for the operating the financial reporting function including regular and ad-hoc reports.

In this role you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Get up to speed on where we are with the monthly Actuals compare to Budget and Forecast in order to give key support to the SSC Controller
  • Partner with cross functional teams to ensure the SSC Controlling is providing the right input and support to the ESAB senior management
  • Active participation in month end closing, preparation of SOX documentation, maintenance of Fixed Assets
  • Give key support in the preparation of the Statutory Annual Statement
  • Active participation of the annual budget preparation
  • Support the recharge process with the required calculations
  • Create ad –hoc reports upon the SSC controller request
  • Maintain and improve existing spreadsheets to provide regular reports on a daily/weekly basis to stakeholders according to the SSC Controller guidance
  • In case of holidays provide back –up support on the SSC Controller activities

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours

  • BA degree in Finance and/or Accounting is a must
  • Chartered Accountant certification is a plus
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting / controlling area is an advantage, but not required
  • Ability to transfer data into business supporting decision
  • Strong analytical skills, structured way of thinking and acting, excellent Excel skills
  • Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Proactive, ability of systematic problem solving
  • Fluency in English is a must, but any other European language knowledge is an advantage
